CDA Participates in Poverty Simulation

On Thursday, September 12, 2019 a few of our CDA staff and local community partners participated in our first Poverty Simulation.

A Poverty Simulation is designed to increase awareness of what it is like to live in poverty and develop a greater understanding of the daily obstacles families face. We know families come to CDA for assistance with child care services, nutrition and/or early education, but these are often only a few of the many services they may need to succeed.

The Poverty Simulation opened the hearts and minds of everyone who participated. It provided insights on how empathy and customer service are integral for the work we do, as well as increasing our community partnerships to meet the complex and interconnected needs of families.
