CDA and the California Food Policy Advocates met with Lucero Chavez, Field Representative for Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez to discuss the importance of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for children, families, and child care providers.
When children are nurtured, they can grow up to be happy and healthy adults. But when they lack an attachment to a caring adult, receive inconsistent nurturing, or experience harsh discipline, the consequences can affect their lifelong health, well-being, and relationships with others.
In October 2018, Child Development Associates (CDA) was granted additional funding from the California Department of Education to enroll 524 children of low-income working parents who have been waiting for child care services but did not qualify to receive services through the CalWORKs child care funding.

We hosted free tax preparation services for families! This event was in partnership with Dreams for Change in support of the Cal EITC 4 Me – a statewide campaign to spread awareness of the Earned Income Tax Credit for working families, students, and seniors.
